Construction of Mehr High School, located in Gaz Manzel, a village
located about 150 km northeast of Chabahr near the Pakistan border
in Sistan & Balouchestan Province of Iran with a population of 1,500
was completed and officially opened in the fall 2018 serving students
up to Grade 12. The previous schoolhouse built over 30 years ago
was an unsafe 4-room crumbling structure serving 101 girls and100
boys up to grade 6.

Additional Supports/Facilities Provided by Hami Canada:

  1. Potable water: Underground & above groundwater reservoirs & pump, water cooler & refrigerator

  2. Sports equipment: Ping pong table, soccer balls & net, jumping ropes

  3. Renovation of living quarters for out of area teachers

  4. Women’s empowerment project - setting up of handicraft workshops to promote local industry & financial independence for women.
